Following the bands spring 2005 album release, Five Face Down is currently working on new material for their sophomore album. They have developed a tight, high-energy stage show and built a strong, loyal fan base. Staying busy with shows, Five Face Down is playing everything from small youth groups to 2000 plus auditoriums. Five Face Down has been blessed with the opportunity to share the stage with many distinguished Christian artists such as Kutless, Superchick, Seventh Day Slumber, and Nate Sallie and are regularly invited to lead worship at weekend retreats and camps. They have also had the privilege of working with great Christian organizations such as the Billy Graham Evangelical Association, and World Vision. Five Face Down has had numerous write ups in several Western Colorado newspapers, as well as a cover shot on Grand Junctions, Daily Sentinel. They were nominated for “Rock Band of the Year” by indiheaven.com. Their freshman self titled album continues to sell very well with over 800 copies sold. This success is supported by regular concerts, local and regional radio play, and word of mouth from the loyal 5FD street team. Whether entertaining crowds with their rock concerts or guest leading worship services, Five Face Down is looking forward to what God has in store for them on the road ahead.
Lead Singer Troy Behrens and Guitarist Jared Johnson have been planning on being in a Christian rock band together since they met their freshman year in College. Both music majors, it seemed like an attainable goal…but only after 3 other failed bands over a span of 4 years did the right personnel finally come together to form what is today, Five Face Down. Having played with Jared and Troy several times, it was an easy decision for both parties to have Bassist Anthony Cooper come aboard in the fall of 2002. Guitarist Alexander Case joined the band shortly after graduating high school, knowing Troy and Jared from Church and youth group, as his youth leaders. Drummer Steve McGarry joined the band in 2005 after being asked by childhood friend, Troy Behrens.
Five Face Down is comprised of these five men with their faces to the ground in a posture of worship and prayer. We are a group of musicians with a burning desire and passion to serve God through music, while honoring the example set forth by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Our main purpose:
To restore Hope in believers, and to give Hope to those who do not have it. Our music contains an honesty that takes into account the realistic life of walking with God; the difficulties and blessings of a journey before and after salvation, leading to a path of righteousness. We are committed to being Godly role models to a generation that desperately needs an example of what it means to be a real Christian. We will stand up for what we know is right and proclaim that message to all who will listen. Most of all, we want to live for Jesus Christ, “not this crazy place”.
