Its been one busy summer but it is done. Our new Worship Album is done.

5/21/07

Summer has arrived and the boys of Five Face Down are still in the studio finishing up their long awaited worship Album.  There has been many changes that have taken place that has caused the longer then expected time of release.  The band has been trying to come up with an album that is going to capture the full spectrum of where worship is today, and where it may be heading.  A project consisting of originals along with today’s modern worship with the 5FD edge , is set to be released this year.  “I have been frustrated with how long it has been taking to get this project finished but I am really excited about the new material.  I know that the time is going to be worth it,” Troy said. The Bands summer is schedule is filling up again, but there is a different focus about this season then before.   “The guys and I have been wanting more out of our ministry, with a center around a stronger love for others especially those not as fortunate as we are.” Troy also added, “ This may sound pretty elementary, but I believe that most church goers nation wide have forgotten this concept, it’s time we really begin to care about things besides ourselves.” With the new focus, 5FD has been booking many benefit concerts this summer and will be concentrating on events outside of church walls and out into the community.
Have a great summer, and check out our schedule.  Don’t forget about Night Vision, a FREE concert in Olathe with Taite playing on Friday, and the Newsboys on Saturday, July 6th and 7th.

Well its 2007. What are you going to do in 2007? Pretty loaded question. We would like to challenge everyone to live BIG. What does that mean? Living BIG is about doing all you can with what you have. Can you help someone who needs help? Of course. To that person who needs it is a BIG deal. It could be a kind word, a ride, money, an ear to listen, and so on. Live BIG.
We would like to hear from you. Come to the Forum tell us how your going to live BIG.

Hello 5FD fans, the cold weather is settling in and the band is heading indoors and will be locked down for the rest of the year in the studio. Steve, Anthony, Alex, Jared, and Troy will be working hard writing and recording for their next album, which will primarily be focused around worship. There will be some covers, along with original material, that will complete Five Face Down’s second project in the bands three year career.

Throughout the busy schedule over the past three months, the band has been guest leading the congregation at the Connection Church in worship. During this time, many new relationships have begun, and there is never a doubt that the presence of the Holy Spirit is felt. “When the band and this church come together, the worship is amazing,” Troy said. “This congregation really understands how singing out adds so much to the entire worship experience.” He also added that it has been an encouraging time for him and the band as they lead into the next months recording their worship album.
There are a few concerts coming up, so check out the dates and see if you can make it to the Great Shows!!!

Well, the "big week" has come and gone and it proved to be all business for 5FD. Last week we all spent the week in Estes Park, Colorado at GMA's "Music in the Rockies" event as well as playing a show at Six Flags in Denver in the middle of the week. We all agree that one of the highlights of the week was working with Tom Jackson, a world famous production coach. Thanks for everything Tom! Plus we got to see our great friends from the band "Marked" win the National and Overall band competition at GMA. Congrats again to Phil, Geoff and Andi! We love you guys.

Looking forward, things aren't slowing do much for us. Make sure you all check our calender and come out to see one of our upcoming shows...heck, come and see all our upcoming show! And don't forget to check out our myspace page and listen to our songs on there, as well as keep voting for "I am Free" on the indieheaven radio charts. To vote, just click on the radio tower pic on the right of this page. If you haven't voted yet, make sure you give it a listen, it's a new full band version of the song we are trying out.

Blessings,
Troy, Alex, Anthony, Steve & Jared

It’s already mid-way through the summer and Five Face Down has been blessed with a full schedule of performing and writing new music! June proved to be an exciting month with 5fd’s drummer, Steve McGarry tying the knot with his long time fiancee’. As soon as he returned from his honeymoon the band was in full swing again and is now preparing for their week-long venture to Estes Park, GMA in the Rockies!

In other news, if you are looking to get out of town, head to Denver CO, at the beginning of August to catch the Super-Summer Christian Youth Day at Six Flags Elitch Gardens! There will be many national acts and on the indie stage, 5fd will be performing with other bands from the region! Your ticket gets you a full day at Six Flags plus all the concerts! Don’t miss
out on this great event for a great price!

So here we are coming into the summer months, and things just keep getting busier for the band. California is just around the corner, and the band is getting stoked. Also, BIG NEWS, our song is up to number 10 on Indieheaven so we thank all our fans, and ask that everyone continue to vote for us. Check out our Podcast under the video icon if you haven't yet. There are casts that will let you see what the band is up to, plus it will give you a closer look at the bands personalities and how we really act off stage. We hope you enjoy them. Keep pray'N and keep up the rock."

Two weeks from this day, we, Five Face Down, will be heading to Nashville, TN.  We can not tell you how exciting and scary this whole trip is for us.  This trip is just another step forward for the band and the ministry, but at that same time it is the highest level of emotions and preparation that demands our utmost excellence.  Dreams have been flooding my mind at night while I sleep, some good, some not so good.  Nevertheless, this whole experience is going to be a great one to write down in the next chapter of the band.  What we ask from our fans, continually pray for us, we must be in the will of God.  Not just our own dreams and goals but the path that He has set before us. This may sound really cliche, but that is the reality of living in this world and being a God follower.  AND WE ARE ALL ABOUT LIVING THE REALITY OF THIS WORLD.
Next, everyone needs to continue to vote for us on the Indieheaven site.  Just click on the radio tower in the lower part of this screen.  Fast forward to our song, and give us 5 big ones, stars that is.  Because it’s a good song right?

Stay tuned to the web site, from April 19th-23rd we will post videos and audio of the trip so you can be a part of the events.
That’s all for me today, thanks to all our loyal fans.
We love you guys so much!

Special shout goes out to our new friend SPOT-GIRL.  She knows who she is, and she knows us.  That is all YOU need to know.

Whew! What a long day, but it was all worth it.  The Jordan Garcia Benefit concert was a huge success!  5FD had a great time being a part of this event.  It was kinda a “back to school” concert for us, kicking off our busy spring schedule.  In other words, we’re all stinking sore after rocking so hard last night!  Out of shape pansies.  But we’ll be ready for Nashville.  Jordan, we’ll be praying for you as you go into surgery this week.  Be strong, God is with you.
Jared and Troy

3/12/06

Big News!
Things are jumping in the 5FD camp! We received word this week that 5FD was one of only 60 bands to be picked for “Band with a Mission”, from a nation wide search! The middle of April the boys will be flying to Nashville, Tennessee to perform in front of a panel of judges who will hand pick one band to be the “Band with a Mission”. This band will then be given a record contract, possibilities of a tour in China as well as a nation wide tour, along with other prizes. We’re stoked!
Peace,
Jared

Reaching Out!
It is amazing how even the simplest little events or activities can be packed full of so much emotion, wisdom and knowledge.  You all know about the March 18th benefit show, and 5FD had the chance to meet with Jordan Garcia last week. We talked with him, and found out more details about his health and how the past six months have been for him.  We also found out that he is going to go into surgery on the 13th, just five days before the HUGE show!  Our prayer is that he is able to attend the concert but most importantly that his over all physical condition improves.
God Bless you Jordan!
See you all there!

Here are a few pics for ya... All the bands , 5fd with Jordan, 5fd's Anthony Cooper with Jordan

March 18th!!! The benefit concert for Jordan Garcia is going to be Big.  It has the potential to be Huge!!!  Everyone needs to come out and support him and his family.  We are all about giving hope to those who need it, and if you, the fans, believe that too, you need to come to this show, and bring as many of your friends as possible.  The band will be meeting with Jordan, Saturday the 25th to talk with him at a personal level to encourage him, and ask that God bless him during this hard time.  God has the power to heal and restore us to new life, all it takes is a little bit of faith.

Things aren't slowing down!  Although it may seem as though the band has been in hiding, we have been working hard, not only on the set lists for our upcoming adventures, but also on some new material.  The band has been together for over 2 years now, and it is beginning to sound like it!  The new tunes are deeper and more mature and the band is settling into the sound that we believe is our own.

We are continually working hard to making our web site more enjoyable for you, the fans, so be looking for new features and ways to get to know the band more as a whole and individually.  It may not be long before we are packing up our gear and showing America the hearts and desires of Five Face Down. Keep us in your prayers, as we continue our dreams and goals of spreading the Hope that comes with Jesus Christ!

1/30/06

Have you checked out our upcoming show list? We'd like to see you there! We would like to strongly encourage each and every one of you to try to make it to the benefit show we are participating in along with Sole Aggression, Lindsay Hoover, and White Cell. Some of you might know Jordan Garcia. Jordan is 15 years old and is facing a VERY serious and life threatening disease. He will require numerous surgeries at St. Luke's Hospital in Denver. Jordan and his family need our help with the staggering medical and traveling expenses. Help us to show Jordan and his family that the Western Slope DOES care!! If you can't make it to the concert would you please consider making a private donation? There is a fund set up at Sooper Credit Union (2440 F Road, GJ) by the name of "The Jordan Garcia Fund". Please search your heart and let God speak to you about how you can help out this young man and his family.

A NEW YEAR!!! and once again we kicked it off in Winter Park, Colorado. We spent the last three days rockin, worshipping, and just changing lives - All for the Glory of GOD. It was an awesome experience. The main feature of the whole weekend was Josh Finklea, probably the most incredible speaker I have heard. It was a life defining weekend for some and a weekend of fulfilling the Lords call for us. We really want to thank Jason and Jodie Newby as well as the Eaton Evangelical Free Church along with everyone else for organizing the whole thing and giving us the opportunity to change lives. Thank You!

Oh Yeah! and we learned that YMCA food is really gross and really good all at the same time.

Home Again! We just got back into town and I felt the most important thing to do was to update everyone on the adventures of the “debt for gear tour”. First of all we aborted the plan and didn’t buy any gear. Which means my clever little tour name was sadly null and misused. But - we played some awesome shows.

Oct 28th , The Katrina benefit concert at The Garage. First I want to give a HUGE shout out to Jackson, the brains behind the whole show. We are all so excited to have made such a ridiculously cool, rockin, awesome friend, and brother in Christ! We can’t wait to work with you again. O.K. now the show. It was an awesome display of independent artists. The best of all being SoulJa an indie rapper that was just killer and all around an awesome guy! We were really privileged to have met someone with such a great heart. King Size Zero, a ska band from Cali that really knew how to work a crowd (Chris, hope your knee is doing better dude). Other bands including The Days Before, Pardigram, A Fate to Betray, Like Chasing Wind, Josh and His Man Bag, Situation, Three Cord Wonder and About John were also there showing off the incredible talent in the indie market right now. Try to check out all their websites and myspace profiles.

Oct 29th. 3Js coffee house. This one actually got canceled last minute. However we are looking forward to playing there again in the future.

Oct 30th. Crossroads Church of Denver Youth (The Garage). This worship service Rocked! We really felt the Spirit moving and got a great response from the whole group and leadership alike.

Oct 31st. Everyday Joe’s Coffee house. All around the best and worst show of the whole tour. The bad part is it was the last show of the tour and we have to come home now L. The up is…well there is a lot of up. First of all the other band, Wrestling Jacob were really good and just really fun to hang out with pre and post game. Next we really put a lot of energy into this one and it was received very well. Plus we got to see an old friend Phil Peyton.   (thanks for the great dinner and hospitality Phil & family!)

A special thanks to the McGurks and the Lessmans for their hospitality on our travels through town. You have no idea how much your help and support means to us!

Check out the links to these other bands& venues, as well as some of our pictures from these shows.  Watch for our new media page coming soon.  We will have video from this weekend, as well as lots of other pictures.

GOD ROCKS! and so we have discovered yet again. Saturday, we played at the Mesa County fairgrounds, for God Rock 2005. It was a really good time. We got to hear some of the Valley's best worship, Christian bands play, as well as see some old friends from the "thanks for the water band." The point of all this? Everyone from the vendors to the bands were there to raise (what ended up being a good deal of money) for the local Habitat For Humanity. So what is this discovery I am talking about? Well... ... right after our set we all felt pretty compelled to pack up all our gear a little bit early. Which resulted in a, as Jared would say, "Noah's Ark Moment". Meaning as soon as we closed the doors on the trailer The Lord God Almighty said in a booming voice. O.K. IT CAN RAIN NOW! We didn't hear it but we definately felt it. it was just awesome to witness once again howJesus takes care of us (and our gear).

Make sure you check our site for times on our show on Friday, at New Horizons Four Square Church, 641 Horizon Drive, Grand Junction.

So Me and the good ole boys of FiveFaceDown decided to pack up and take the long drive to Delta Colorado, and play a show. (all but Anthony who just decided to drive across town). It was awesome - the guys of Mayday To Monday (Joe, Matt, and Ben) started off the night, and i just have say if you haven't seen these guys you need to. They did such a great job and really got down and ROCKED! Anyways, next we had Epidemik a Christian rapper from Cali that was mind blowing. You should check out his website. Then we had the one, the only 5FD - we rocked, we played the song, and we jumped around like idiots. It was alot of fun and we have come to the conclusion that Delta kids just have way too much energy. I mean they practically out performed us! The shows just keep getting better and bettter. Check out our next one this Saturday at the Mesa County Fair Grounds.

7/13/05 Album 2 B?

5fd loves to Rock! Worship is a big part of our rocking so we went into the studio to record some worship favorites, just for … fun! The result was a pretty powerful worship ep! There has been talk of planning a worship album for release in ’06, but we are still unsure. If you would like to see a 5fd “Worship Release” then go to our forum and start talking about it! The fans shall speak! Stay tuned to find out when and if the worship album will be released!

Jared is bored, or just cool, I can never tell.

We set up at the Paonia park and get ready for Sunday morning worship!

Hanging out at the merch table waiting for the day to begin!

After worship it threatened to rain, we were ready!

Worship in the morning then a long break until the concert that night, Troy goes psycho, Alex looks cool! (It’s the whole charismatic front man / mysterious guitar player thing from almost famous)

7/06/05 survived the 4 th of July!

Hello everyone! We had a very hectic yet fun and rewarding 4 th of July weekend! We want to send a BIG “Thanks” to all the Wonderful 5fd fans that came out to worship and Rock with us at the Paonia Park! We want to send a special shout out to Truett and the gang at Paonia Friends Church for doing such an Awesome job making this event happen! It was a beautiful day and it kind of had that “tropical rain mist” thing going on. This would have been real cool, except for the fact that all our gear was outside! So we purchased about 100 bucks worth of tarps and quit worrying about it!

I always say “If we got a problem, just throw money at it… if we are out of money then just throw the credit card at it!” Ha just kidding! Here are a couple cool pics from our krazy fun weekend!

6/30/05 PAX217 is breaking up !:(

So everyone out there knows about pax 217, they are one of the all time best Christian Rock acts… or they were one of the best. They are breaking up and I am bummed! All too many great bands have broken up… The Channel Surfers, The Benjamin Gate, Pax 217, Ghoti Hook, Silage, DC talk, and more… LAME! I never understand it. Bands are supposed to stick together till they conquer the world! Oh well. Check out pax’s web site while you still can. Go out to your local Record store and buy their albums. www.pax217.com Rest in piece pax you will be missed! Mean while lets all look to U2 as the example that you can stay together and Rock forever!

6/21/05 Warrior Wear Freestyle rocked!

The Warrior wear Freestyle was a blast. The day was very hot and dusty! You can't see it from the pictures but there were 100's of people up in the grandstands! It was a true X-Games style event complete with the motorcycle back flip and all that! The stage that was supposed to be there never showed but Josh and Henry from Warrior wear pulled some strings to at least get us off the ground and save our gear. Warrior wear ROCKS! Check out their site! warriorcomp.com There were 5 great bands at the event. L.A.D. Theory opened up the event and then had to rush off to their 2 nd gig that day. opening up for 80’s metal band “Warrant” at a local club. Loaded 45 played 2 nd. L-45 Rawked and bled, as is customary in punk rock! LOL! 5fd played 3 rd. We had a blast. I almost fell over from heat exhaustion, but other than that it was a good time.

DSV played 4 th. “Deep Sleep Vision” is a great band, check out their website deepsleepvision.com

Sole aggression played 5 th and tore it up as always… Jeff screamed a little more than usual and the crowed really seemed to dig it! All in all it was a good time. Wish ya could have been there!

Check out pics!

6/16/05 Fellowship Church Rocked!

Wow! We had a wonderful time with the fine people of Fellowship Church last night! It is truly an Awesome thing to have a large group of people worshiping God with one voice! I am not sure how many people were there.. maybe 1000??? It was incredible to look out and behold a sea of hands raised to our God! Being in a rock band is a dream come true, but we cherish any opportunity to lead worship! 5Fd is passionate about our Rock, and Passionate about worship! Last night was amazing! Thank you People of Fellowship church! Your burning desire to worship God with everything in you was a blessing to us! We also would like to extend special thanks to Pastor Dan Hooper Jr. Seth Shafer, Mindi Edgerton, Amalie Hooper, Joe McGee and the sound, light and video crew, Pastor Tim and Pastor Lindsey Jackson.
